Another quilt at last .....

At last I have found time to do some more work on my quilt made from a jelly roll. I think I v

Bought the jelly roll in the Easter holidays 2013 .... So it has taken a while ... But here are the bits, all I need now is some batting and some binding .... Maybe that will take another couple of years :-)

The results of a girls shopping trip

Steffi and I went shopping one sat afternoon ...... As a reward for not biting her nails and for getting am excellent school report ..... Here are some shots of the modelling show we got the next day

Camp blankets and painting aprons

As well as the usual painting aprons for school this year I was asked to do a couple of camp blankets, so I used the emblem I used on steffi's .... I think they cam out quite well

Presents .....

Well over the last few months I have made quite a few presents and they have all been given away I can put a post about them .....

Firstly a pillow and a box made from scraps for my cycling buddy :-)

Birthday season

Aug is birthday season in our house ..... Markus had a mountain biking party, followed by water fight and campfire in the garden, steffi is planning a water party at the start of therm.

We are away camping for steffi's birthday so we had a family afternoon on Markus' birthday fir the two of them ..... How  much longer am I going to get away with them sharing the decoration of a cake ? .... Admittedly they also have cakes for their parties so maybe it will lags a little longer ..... Here is the result of the cake decorating ..... Choc fudge cake yum yum yum

As M got walkie talkies as a birthday present .... They spent the day dressed as police men :-)

Inset day fun !

Inset day fun ..... Thomas came round to play and we ended up with lady thomasina and lady markusina ...... They won't thank me for theses photos in a few years time :-)

Birthday cards

I thought I would have a go at some washi step birthday cards for the kids thus year ..... Steffi really liked her bunting :-)

Ooops ..... A new bike

The 200 mile ride is now just a distant memory ..... And the London to Brighton off road seems to be approaching fast ..... So we finally went out and did some mountain bike training , boy was it hard dork on the old steel mountain bike Stu gave me ..... So we had a look on eBay and I accidentally bought this ....

It is much easier to ride and a lot faster :-)

..... Now I just need to sell the other one to make room in the garage .......

Damsons .....

This year the damson tree has done itself proud and we have lots and lots of fruit ...... Unfortunately I seem to be very good at making damson soup and not so good at damson jam, perhaps if will get some practice in this year ..... Here is the first pan full off the tree.... Going yo make damson gin, damson vodka and jam ..... The next lot will be for crumble and chutney ..... If I get some more jars :-)

New hair cuts ......

Ok so at the start of the summer holidays I finally succumbed and the kids were allowed short hair cuts .... So it can all grow back in time for school in September :-)

Markus wanted it all shaved off, so Stu very gingerly obliged, making sure at each set that I was as happy as Markus with the length of it :-)

Steffi also had hers cut ..... Hopefully by sept it will be long enough to tie back again.

The kids get crafty
