DIY Day 2

Well day 2 is actually the next day !!! Although I was one helper down, he decided skateboarding was a better bet than painting the downstairs loo !!!

So the other helper went shoe shopping (school shoes) , then she helped me choose new towel holder and loo roll holder for the downstairs loo, exciting shopping , rewarded with a trip to Asda !!!!
Then she painted the garage door with primer (forgot the action photo)

Whilst I finished off the white in the loo .... ready for colour tomorrow, if they can agree which wall is going to be which colour !

And is now tidying her room and filing the new IKEA cabinet, think it might even be a finished bedroom when we’ve figured out how to attach the sheleves to to wall :-)

A DIY adventure

The kids are now 13 and 11 and there are still a few days left of the summer holidays, so I thought it was time to get them started on doing some DIY around the house ... especially as there are loads of things that need to be redone at the moment. We thought we start with the easy things and work up to some of the bigger jobs .. so here goes:

 DAY 1
Not sure how long the "adventure" is going to take but given past performance I would guess quite a while. So to start with we decided we'd do the easy thing .. painting ... the shed, the gate and the garage door ... and also the downstairs loo
Day 1 and the shed and the gate are complete :

The garage door is started but we've decided that we probably do need an undercoat to cover the white before we paint it blue, so we back off to B&Q tomorrow for undercoat.

And the downstairs loo .... well its emptied, we've learnt a little about plumbing and radiators and the walls are nearly all white so that we can then paint them another colour ... red and green are the current favorites !!!...

lets see what the next day brings ! ..... notice I’m not commuting to tomorrow as I know what my helpers are like , they might have had enough :-)
