The theme thus year was Brazil and carnival ..... So Kerry and I went all out and went for the mankin look .....

Easter cakes

This year we went for chocolate overload for our Easter cake ..... A chocolate nest that used 12 flakes :-) ....... Unsurprisingly it was all eaten in one session!

Growing up

My little girl seems to be growing up ..... She is trying very hard to wean herself off a song at bedtime ....but some days she can't resist, especially when I remember some strange song, take last night for example, she has been asking all Easter for an Easter song and I couldn't remember any but last night I remembered "hot cross buns" .... So she was intrigued enough to want to hear it and then proceeded to laugh and complain and ask for a different one when she realised all it was was ...

Apparently that's not got enough different words in it to constitute a proper bedtime song, so we resorted to an old favourite instead ... Zenna zenna 😄

Another part of her growing up is finally stopping biting her nails and the skin off her fingers .... This has been achieved by the promise of makeup! She doesn't often see me putting makeup on but she watched me a couple of weeks ago and thought I looked pretty (does this mean I should wear it more often?) ... And decided she would like some herself, so I promised if she stopped biting her nails and fingers we could go shopping together for make up. Well it seems to have worked and her hands are getting better, so we went to get lipstick this weekend (along with a cake and coffee), with the promise of more if she keeps it up. The only down side is the lipstick of choice for a 10 year old is of course red! .... So no chance of sharing it :-)

Easter holidays and what else do you go but bling up your scooter and go out on it ....

It will now be very safe in an electrical disaster :-)

Lemon curd cup cakes

HSteffi used one of her Christmas presents this weekend to make some lemon curd filled cup cakes
