Jelly roll quilt number 2

So a jelly roll every quarter was a present I got last year ...... This is quilt number 2 from the jelly rolls ..... Still got jelly roll number 3 in the drawer and number 4 is due soon so I'm not doing too badly.... heres what I made with number 1.

I've bought myself a couple of book during the year and made this one from one of them. I think it works really well and didn't take too long to make at all

even managed a mug rug from the last of the scraps .. waste not want not :-)

Markus's 8th birthday party

Weekend number 2 and it is Markus's turn for a party.

Having enjoyed his mountain biking party so much last year he wanted to do it again this year ......

Not as much mud as last year (thankfully) but the boys seemed to enjoy it ..... The flour game and the chocolate game went down a treat as always :-)

Steffi's 10th birthday party

For once I have been organised and arranged the kids birthday parties before the summer holidays ..... Unfortunately I think everyone else had the same idea so steffi ended up going to 3 parties in one day :-)

We went to the ceramic painipting place and they spent an hour happily painting ornaments ..... Even the boys enjoyed it! But the best bit was the flour game, consequences and the chocolate game in the garden afterwards :-)

My perfect stranger swap

I thought I would have a go at the perfect stranger swap I came across. You have to make up a package and send it to the person you are given, and it's fun to do.

All I knew was her name was Katie, she lived in Bradford and liked interior design and pretty things, not a lot to go on but it was fun making a package. I was away for a few days so my package from Katie arrived before I had even started hers ..... Which actually turned out quite well. Here's what she sent

Some lovely fat quarters of material and felt
Some paper with pretty garden pictures on it, perfect for card making
2 birds to decorepate myself
Three little horses/animals ...... Perfect for decoupage with the kids, though Markus has already decided that his is perfect for action man to ride (watch this space for the finished result)
Some sweets for the kids and
Some tea ..... An interesting one called butter mint that I'm looking forwards to trying

In return here are some pics of the package I put together, I used some of the material I'd been sent and paired it with some of my own to make a little bag, a tissue holder, a book mark and a tag, I hope my partner likes it.....

Now to make some more things .......
