More cases ....

You would think I would learn and measure at least 3 times before cutting, and remember to take account of the fact that the wadding adds in extra thickness .... But no .....luckily the iPad still fits in the case

And I even found a use for the one I made last week and it was too small ....it fits a different kind of tablet, not sure what but who cares if it fits :-)

Pirate pants

Hopefully thre will be a happy little boy on Christmas Day .... And a happy mummy as the old ones can be thrown away.

The first Christmas pud of the year .....

Yup nigella Christmas is out and this year I tried tiramisu cake .... Didn't quite look like the pic but it was delicious :-)

Footstool

The footstool is now covered to match the chair, my only dilemma now is that it doesn't match the room so what should I do .... Redo the room or move the chair elsewhere?

Christmas decorations

Finishing off our Christmas decorations ..... They smell lovely as we made them from cinnamon salt dough.

Finally a use for some of the fleece in my stash, all I need to do now is make a matching hat !

Fork bows

How cool are these? Just found a tutorial on pintrest on how to make fork bows, they are so cute ... Will be using them to decorate the bags I have made :-)

See the bags look pretty with them on, hope the girls like them ..... Might have to do a pirate bag for steffi as pink would not go down well!

More Christmas crafts ....

I am not the only one to be crafting a the moment .... Someone else has stolen the corner of my table and rifled through the scrap bag to make presents for her teacher :-)

Christmas presents .....

 At last , I have finally finished some presents .... I keep starting things and then thinking of another thing to make before finishing the first ... Nothing new there though!

What are they ? Well you will have to wait and see if you are a lucky recipient :-)

The iPad mini case I have been promising to make for a while ...... Despite my Friday night mistakes .... Must remember to always measure and never sew something after a Friday night g&t !!

This blanket is sooooooo soft

This has taken a while to finish ... I started it on my trip to the US back in May and actually finished it on the plane home, which was a bit late as I had seen Hathaway whilst out there ...... Finally did the finishing touches and packed it in a Christmas parcel tonight !

At last .... The chair is finished

We acquired a couple of chairs from work whe I left Areva a few years ago and they haven Rene I the conservatory .... The fabrics started to go on them so I thought I would give some upholstery a go, as I have some fabric I bought for curtains but it really is too thick.

So here are the before and after pics

I think it look ok and it feels comfy enough ... Let's hope it lasts as the kids love sitting an reading on theses chairs :-)

Baking must be in the genes

Steffi is doing her hostess badge at brownies next weekend so we thought we would practice the cakes we are gong to make and see if the decorations were acceptable ....we had fun decorating and the team at work had fun eating them :-)

Although we did have to eat the best ones ... Just to make sure they weren't poisonous you understand

Money aprons for the TAFF Christmas fair

Well the dilemma tonight was do I spend £15 on buying aprons of dubious quality ... Or do I make my own? .... So of course I took a quick look on the web and found this fab tutorial

Then took a look through my fabric stash ..... And even managed to use up 3 different fabrics (much to florian's amazement!!!) ... And now I have to lovely aprons, all ready for the fair next weekend.

Indian art work for Diwali

The kids did some picture for the art exhibition and I managed to persuade a couple of the lads to do some sand art at work today .... We didn't win unfortunately ... The windmills won  :-)

I was inspired by another blog to make a tag for a present for one of steffi's friends .... Hope she likes it.

Being a northerner it is hard to throw things away ...... So with some of the cuffs from the chopped up shirts used for painting aprons ...... I thought I would make a bag for Molly to keep her shirt in :-)

Busy week.....

Well I am supposed to be revising my PRINCE2 tonight but instead have finished off Kerry's tea cosy and have made Oma an iPad case ..... Well I passed the exam today so thought I deserved a night off, back to the grindstone tomorrow for the exam on Friday :-(

Steffi said she knew the iPad case was for Oma .... 'Cos it was in old lady colours :-)

Painting aprons ...

Once again I foolishly volunteered to make painting aprons for the kids at school ... But Markus is very pleased with his ... And the little bag to put it in.

A cowboy party

Markus wanted a cowboy party for his 6th birthday ...... What a load of rough looking cowboys andindians  there were .....

We are having a party this weekend and Markus has chosen cowboys as the theme .... So we went shopping to get some plastic horses for the top of some muffins and came back with a cowboy hat ..... So he HAD to try it on with his bandana 

Boys shorts jazzed up to be girls shorts .....

Well these days they don't seem to sell long shorts for girls and we were instructed to only send long shorts for Brownie camp .... So what else was I supposed to do ? Anyway it is a good job that steffi likes blue shorts cos she was over the moon with them and chose the patterns and colours that they had to be decorated with :-)
